Ava tumbled back from the skies, from her hawk form, into her human form, landing nimbly on her feet on the well-foliaged grounds.
It was best to think in her human form--the brain was largest, after all. She found she liked being able to imagine. To forget Aaron's odd quirks and lies, and to just think he was perfect.
The hawk, it was too critical. Too wary. The dog didn't care what to make of Aaron at all. Humans, they were easiest to think about him.
The bright, clever blue eyes... The perfect cupid's bow... The well-defined eyebrows... The glossy black hair.... And oh, the dreamy, sweet, silky voice!

>>> Aaron was finishing up his hunting when he literally bumped into Ava.
"Oh, hey there." His casual pleasantly surprised voice wasn't faked---he really hadn't caught a whiff of Ava's scent or else guessed she was there.
He wasn't doing anything sinister.

"Oh, I, uh--Hi!" Ava said rather stupidly, blinking in shock. Once again, there was a heat rising in her cheeks, "Uh, what--what brings you here?"
It was so embarrassing! She had just been thinking about him, and there, he showed up! She hoped he wasn't one of those mind readers... Otherwise, that'd be scary. Very.
Just the thought made her blush even more!

>>> He shrugged, and said honestly, "I like coming here. It helps clear my mind."
Aaron was no mind reader, of course. He had absolutely no idea what was going through Ava's mind. But Aaron was distracted. He'd slipped up on his first day undercover; damn, what was it about Ava?!
"What about you?"

"It, uh... Yeah," Ava said quietly, "It helps clear my mind too,"
No lie. It did.
It was a nice, calming environment that smelled of pine and a fresh breeze. It was o'naturale. Ava liked nature. It was where she could express herself in so many forms of various animals without hiding anything.
She honestly didn't know vampires felt like that too.

>>> There was a moment of silence, but not awkward silence.
Aaron had a strange random impulse---
"There's supposed to be a diner in Spoons; full of junk food. We could hitch a ride over there and see if the rumors are true. It'll be fun; you can bring jokes."
His tone was casual. A few seconds later, his brain caught up with his mouth.
Holy crap. Did I just do what I think I did??

Ava was shocked still for a few more than a few seconds.
Aaron... Had Aaron just asked her out on a date?! A... A date?!
[/u] After Ava realized that Aaron was still waiting for an answer, she managed to stumble out a half-coherent answer. "I--Uh--Yeah--I, yeah! Yeah, that'd be, uh, that'd be great!" Towards the end, her voice got more eager, more sure. Her heart thudded irregularly. Aaron. The Absolute God of Sexiness had asked her out on a date! She, Ava! On a date! [/blockquote][/blockquote]

>>> "Great. Say, six-ish tomorrow?"
He pushed away all thoughts of how Romeo and Juliet this was like. Aaron was supposed to be an undercover at the school for crying out loud---
But there was never any rules saying he couldn't dabble around while he was there...plus, if he got caught, he could say that he was baiting her.
And he was baiting her....right?

"Cool!" Ava's voice went a bit higher with her nervousness, "Where should I meet you?"
Ava lived in the orphanage on the other side of town--she had to wake up at five every morning just to be ready for school; it was tiring, but the cops had put her there. So she had to stay.
And honestly? She didn't really want Aaron to pick her up there or anything. If he had a car.
You still don't really know him! she scolded herself, once again.

>>> "The front of the diner, works fine." He replied.
(sorry, crappy-ish. There's a new thread called Death Date. Respondevous xP)

"Sure!" she said cheerily.
One problem down. Now just the nervous date to go.
