"Bella, just lay off it a while, will you?" Rosalie gave her a gentle thwap! to the head.
---
Ava shrugged. "They're slow too--you can relate to that part. Aren't you fast? Or you take after your human side on that one?" she teased.

>>> "Oh, just like how you gave up on---I can't even say it, it sounds too weird." The words, Jasper and I, sounded too strange and foreign to roll off Bella's tongue. They sounded alien. It was like putting stupid and Einstein together.
>>> Aaron grinned again. "You're one to talk, slow one; I'm still faster than you."

"I did give up on that, in case you haven't noticed," Rosalie hissed.
---
"You couldn't catch me if you tried!" Ava exlaimed, a playful glint in her eyes as a symbol of a happy challenge.

>>> Bella blinked at Rosalie for a moment. Then she sighed and half-shrugged. "Fine. You keep saying that... Well, I guess I'll see you...later."
And then she went off to join her other less-fanged human friends.
>>> There was a similar glint in his eyes. "Is that a challenge, Miss Ava?"
That was more of a rhetorical question than anything. Of course it was a challenge.

Rsalie rolled her eyes before stalking off.
---
"Perhaps, Sir Aaron," her mischeivous smile grew to a grin.

>>> His grin showed off a few pointed fangs, but it somehow looked cute, not creepy or too toothy.
"I'll let you get a head start." Aaron teased.

"You'll regret it," Ava warned, tiptoing to kiss him on the cheek. With another mischievous smirk, she ran into the woods further.
Several seconds in, she began morphing. Great fiery wings melded from her back took her flying into a tree, where she landed gracefully, sitting and swinging her legs up on a high branch. It was a little awkward, stuck in half-Phoenix, half-human form, but she stayed like that, ready to finish morphing at moment's notice.

>>> It was hard to tell when Aaron got there. One moment, he wasn't there, the next, he was right next to Ava.
He was also grinning, and there was a strange and somewhat not understandable glint in his blue eyes. "Cheat."

"Hm... I guess I could cheat some more..." she said thoughtfully. "You really can't beat flying... But I guess... I dunno... I give up?" she smiled sweetly and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek, shy.
Almost immediately as she did so, she jerked away to look down at her lap and play with her fingers.

>>> Taken aback, he blinked at her. To be completely honest, and not modest at all, Aaron wasn't quite so used to being....well, what else to say it? Pampered like a ladies man? Yeah, that works.
And Ava...well she definietly wasn't ugly or anything, she was great. It's too bad that....

Of course he's not saying anything. Of course, of course, of course. You're an idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot. Why'd you do that? Why'd you do that? Why'd you do that? her mind demanded of her angrily, frustrated.
Her hands tumbled into knots, and her wings retracted back. HOnestly, she wanted to phase completely and fly away.

>>> He blinked at her, again, though this time not out of surprise, more out of confusion.
"You look suddenly nervous." He observed.

She racked her brain for a signature witty comeback. "You suddenly look shocked," she said quickly, without looking up; still swinging her feet and knotting her hands repeatedly.
Idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot...

>>> Did I really look that shocked?
He covered any more surprise by smiling. It was a slight, almost (almost) shy smile. "I'm never used to being a ladies man...but I kind of like it." Now there was a little more naughty replacing the shy.

It was Ava's turn to be shocked. But she kissed him again and smiled shyly.
"In that case, I think I kind of like you," she said softly.
