Stone had bounced around in random places for days. He hadn't talked to Zane ever since he had helped get him out of the house. Stone knew Zane would kill him (if he could, anyway) if he helped any more directly. Technically Stone wasn't allowed to anyway. Not that he cared, though.
The point was that Stone wasn't sure what to do with Zane. He had alreayd ruled that he was in no means angry with Zane. Stone was just simply annoyed.
The spirit just sulked around throwing a football at a tree and watching it bounce back to him. That was pretty much it.

Lilia interecepted the ball, playing with it in her small hands. The ball was huge - she couldn't hold it with only one hand, she could barely hold it with both.
"It's such an awkward ball - weirdly shaped, I mean," she commented. "My brother and father used to throw it around... I could never get it right," she laughed humorlessly. "My brother ended up going to Syracruse though, I think. On a sport's scholarship,"
The pigskin on this particular ball was well worn, but comfortable. The lacing was tight and well done, the words slightly visible. It rolled in her hands as she gazed at it.
"Lilia! Catch!" Sam called, laughing.
"No! You know I can't. - !" she stopped, running and ducking behind a shed as her brother threw the ball. It rolled awkwardly at her feet. "You know I can't catch that! This doesn't even count as a ball!"
"It does!" He ran to pick up the ball, his dark hair flopping over his face. "You've just gotta... Here," He took her hands and wrapped them around the ball. "Put your fingers on the lace here... And raise it here..." He raised her arms above her shoulder. "Now... Throw it forward, and twist it,"

Stone raised an eyebrow. It was kind of weird seeing such a small girl/spirit like Flower Girl, holding such a big ball that represented dirt and gritty so called manhood.
"Are you a football expert?" He tried to imagine Lilia in full frontal football gear. Helmet, shoulder pads, and even those charcoal streaks on the players cheeks. Oh, man it was a funny sight. A very funny sight. Stone even laughed out loud.

Lilia blushed. "I just know some. I died my brother's freshman year of college," Her voice grew somber. "I think you would've liked him,"
She sat down beside Stone and gave him the ball back. It was childish of her to take the ball in the first place, but Stone was a nice guy. He understood. Lilia could even see herself falling in love with him, had she been alive. But she was dead, and what's the point of falling in love when you're dead? Pointless, yep. You couldn't have any kids anyway, and all human experiences were gone. She hoped their relationship would remain platonic.

Stone chucked the football at a random tree fifty feet in front of them. It bounced off it like rubber. Well, you definitely couldn't do that in real life.
"I had a younger sister. She died before I got fangs--she drowned." He paused to catch the football, and to throw it back at the tree. "Well, at least you get to see your brother, and I get to see my sister."

Lilia nodded thoughtfully. "So, what're you doing?" she said after several moments of silence, "Sitting around and sulking all day? Let's go to the movies and freak the sh** outta couples!" she sprang to life (not literally, since she's already dead).
She felt oddly perky today, like something good was going to happen. Hopefully good, anyway. She was only a dead human - her intuition could be wrong. She shrugged and offered out her hand to Stone, though she knew he wouldn't need help standing up.

His eyes lit up, and he flashed a toothy grin. "Ruining first dates and scaring sappy romantic teenagers? Hell yeah I'll take up that offer, any day!"
Stone took her hand with more eagerness than he had expected. But Lilia was right. He hadn't done anything but mope around and peek in on the living after he died. And if he was going to not sulk around, he couldn't think of a better dead person to do it with than Lilith.
